Spring Hiatus

Well, I sort of fell of the face of the map of this wonderful blogosphere of ours. It's that time of year for me. March through May are just impossible in terms of this second job of mine. To me, being a good blogger means not only regular posting (which I don't have the time for) but also being a part of the conversation on all the great blogs out there.

Trust me. It hurts that I don't have time to read Dell's brilliant reviews or Sati's biting pop culture takedowns, Courtney's vibrant writings, M. Brown's action-packed hilarity or Brittany's "Rambling"s. I've had to drop Thursday Picks this year, and it's there that I'll miss hearing from Dancin' Dan and our friend Joel, or as you know him...joel65913.

But I'll be back around this summer, when I plan to drop at least two new Directed by... posts, Marty and Wes.

Until then, I'll be teaching English to 8th graders, going on field trips, coaching a winning golf team, going on more field trips, chaperoning the 8th grade spring formal, teaching some more, and, hopefully, reading some books and drinking some beers in what spare time I have on the weekends.

Much Love,

  1. I hope you have a good Spring! We'll be here when you come back. :)

  2. Nobody understands this as much as I do, trust me (even if I've only got lowly 6th graders!)

This is the beginning of the end, right? Enjoy it!

  3. Enjoy your hiatus! 3 months time is probably like 12 posts on my website and they're all so dumb, you're not missing much :P

  4. Dude. I'll definitely miss you, man. Your reviews are awesome, & your blog is amazing, & I can't wait for your return. I'll be here when you return. Until then, enjoy your hiatus! Teach English with a great passion, make those field trips amazing, make that golf team win again (I know that sounds a lot like another thing with the words "Make [blank] Great Again" but it's the only thing I can think of. But I digress...), make that 8th grade formal the best it's ever been, read more books (start reading American Pastoral by Philip Roth, if you haven't already read it.), drink some nice cold beer, & just carpe diem. Seize the day. Make your life extraordinary.

What will I be doing during the duration of your hiatus? I'll be doing a lot of the same stuff. Watching movies, reading books, watching my beloved Detroit Tigers hopefully win some baseball games, & trying to get through my sophomore year of high school. I'll also be working on a musical that my performing arts school is doing. My performing arts school is doing the musical Big Fish, which is of course adapted from the 2003 film of the same name & the 1998 book of the same name. So that's just about everything I'll be doing in the meantime.

As much as I will be missing your amazing reviews, I know that you will be doing great, & I look forward to your eventual return.

    Have a great spring!

  5. Whip those 8th graders into shape! We'll be here waiting when you return.

  6. Life does have a tendency to get in the way doesn't it? Good luck with all the crazy making endeavors and see you when you get a chance to breath again.

  7. Two jobs...egads! It sounds exhausting but, hopefully, rewarding. Looking forward to your return!

  8. It sounds exhausting! I hope you'll have a great spring :)
